Day 3: Peasedown St John to Shapwick (31 miles)

Wow what a long day! Soreness is creeping in and we really know we are in for a gruelling 3 days! Wonderful messages of support have helped us on our journey. The reception we have received at the Abbey (when we met a member of staff, Tyler!) and at Peasedown, where we met the fantastic Vicar and his wife, has been fantastic. Walking from Peasedown to Shapwick, just the other side of Glastonbury seemed to be a phenomenally long way. For the majority of our journey we could see the Tor and it didn’t get any closer! Highlights of our journey were bumping into a Druid coming down the side of the Tor, hearing a Bittern at Sedgemoor peat bogs and Mr Wightman really enjoyed taking numerous photographs of Glastonbury Tor as it slowly came into view, walking underneath it and then down towards the Abbey. Many thanks to Mr Smith’s Mum who aided us on our stage and rendezvousing (?) with us at various times throughout the day. Thank you.
