Day 1: 30 miles Clanfield CE Primary to Malmesbury Abbey
What a great send off! Thank you to everyone who lined the causeway to send us on our way. My only disappointment was not being able to read all the banners the children had produced! Notable highlights of day one are numerous: The banners, Y6 and Mrs Foster accompanying us to the football club, Patrick Edwards joining us for an impromptu 10 miles (in his overalls, shirt and tie), Mrs Haughton for watering us at Lechlade, our own rolling paparazzi following us to Kempsford, Lynn Mander running further than she planned to (20 miles, fabulous), Aidy Hillier for all his support with water and fuel and the reception we received on entering Malmesbury Abbey.
Sitting here, writing this my legs are beginning to feel somewhat more normal and ready for action all over again tomorrow.
